Home › Child and Spousal Support
Support is where a wrong number costs the most, every month, for years. Divii's support calculations are professional grade: built to the Federal Child Support Guidelines and the Spousal Support Advisory Guidelines, accounting for taxes, tax credits, and the different ways income is earned. You see the numbers, you see what's behind them, and the decision you make becomes the support clauses of your BC Separation Agreement.
Writes: your child and spousal support clauses, amounts and structure included.
How the tool works
The calculation is only as good as the income it starts from, so that's where the tool starts too.
Employment, self-employment, corporate income, dividends, bonuses. Different income types are treated differently, and the tool walks you through each one.
The Federal Child Support Guidelines table amounts for your incomes, province, and children, including set-off structures for shared parenting.
The Spousal Support Advisory Guidelines range, low to high, with duration, reflecting your incomes, the length of the relationship, and child support.
Choose the amounts and structure together, with the ranges in front of you. Your decision becomes the support clauses of the agreement.
Professional grade
A ballpark is a fine place to start. It is a bad place to sign. The difference between the two is everything the simple calculators leave out.
The same professional-grade engine runs every calculation in your file, so the numbers you discuss and the numbers behind your agreement always come from the same place.
Where it goes
Once the two of you decide amounts and structure, Divii drafts the support clauses from your decision: who pays, how much, on what basis, and when it starts. The calculations are in front of you when you decide, and if you agree on something different from the calculated amounts, the clauses reflect the agreement you actually made.
Change an income or revisit the decision before signing, and the clauses update with it. Nothing is retyped and nothing drifts out of sync.
1. The amount John is required to pay to Jane under the Federal Child Support Guidelines table for British Columbia as of the date of this Agreement is $2,113.00 per month, and the amount Jane is required to pay to John is $515.00 per month, in each case plus that party's portion of Special or Extraordinary Expenses as outlined in this Agreement.
2. For the sake of convenience only, these obligations may be satisfied by John paying to Jane the difference, being $1,598.00 per month on the first day of each month, continuing for so long as the Children remain a child as defined by the Family Law Act.
